Overview
Ad Dominum is developed by Joe Meineke. The app is designed to help users orient prayer toward a selected Catholic church and find nearby Catholic churches using public map data.
Information the app accesses
The app requests foreground location access so it can determine your position and point toward the selected church. The app also reads heading information from the device so the directional indicator can function.
Information stored on the device
- Saved churches selected by the user.
- The currently active church target.
- Theme preference such as dark mode.
- Cached church search results used to improve the app experience.
How information is used
- Location and heading are used to display direction and distance within the app.
- Saved and cached data are used only to preserve app state and improve usability.
- The app does not require account creation.
Third-party services
Church search relies on publicly maintained OpenStreetMap data and the Overpass API to find churches in the selected search area. Search requests include the geographic area being searched — not your precise device location. These services are operated by the OpenStreetMap Foundation and are governed by the OpenStreetMap Privacy Policy. No other third-party services, analytics SDKs, or advertising networks are used.
Data sharing
The app does not sell personal data. Data stored locally by the app remains on the device. No data is transmitted to the developer or any third party other than the geographic search queries described above.
Data deletion
Saved churches can be deleted individually within the app. To remove all data stored by the app, delete the app via Settings › General › iPhone Storage. Cached search results are temporary and cleared when the app is removed.
Children
Ad Dominum is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
